TOMATO PAPPU

INGREDIENTS:
Tomato - 3 nos
Onion -1 no
Ghee - 1 tsp
Chillies - 2 no
Cooked tur dal - 1 cup
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
Curry leaves - few
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
Chilli powder - 2 tsp
Coriander leaves - few
METHOD:
Take washed dal in a pressure cooker, add 1 ½ cups of water.. Let it cook for 5-6 whistles on medium heat.Dal should be cooked, soft and almost mushy.
Heat the ghee in a pan . Once hot add mustard seeds, then add cumin seeds and let them sizzle.Now add sliced onions, sprinkle some salt to speed up the process.
Cook till onions turn brown. Then add ginger paste, garlic paste and slit green chilies.
Now add chopped tomatoes and curry leaves. Mix well and add salt.
Cook till tomatoes get soft. Add red chilli and turmeric powder. Mix and cook for a minute.
Now add the cooked dal and another ½ cup of water. Miz well and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
Garnish with coriander leaves. Stir well, and turn off the stove.
