INGREDIENTS:
Toor dal - ½ cup
Jeera - 1 tsp
Pepper - ½ tsp
Curry leaves - few
Red chilli - 5 nos
Roasted split gram dal - ½ cup
Garlic - 4 nos
Salt - 1 tsp
Asafoetida - a pinch
METHOD:
Dry roast tur dal on low flame.
Add cumin seeds, pepper, red chillies and curry leaves roast till the curry leaves turn crisp.
Add roasted split gram dal and roast for few minutes. Transfer them in a blender and allow them to cool.
Add hing and salt. Grind them to a fine powder without adding water.
Serve the paruppu podi with rice, idly or dosa.
