PARUPPU PODI

INGREDIENTS:


  • Toor dal - ½ cup

  • Jeera - 1 tsp

  • Pepper - ½ tsp

  • Curry leaves - few

  • Red chilli - 5 nos

  • Roasted split gram dal - ½ cup

  • Garlic - 4 nos

  • Salt - 1 tsp

  • Asafoetida - a pinch

METHOD:


  • Dry roast tur dal on low flame.

  • Add cumin seeds, pepper, red chillies and curry leaves roast till the curry leaves turn crisp.

  • Add roasted split gram dal and roast for few minutes. Transfer them in a blender and allow them to cool.

  • Add hing and salt. Grind them to a fine powder without adding water.

  • Serve the paruppu podi with rice, idly or dosa.
