CHINTAKAYA PACHADI

INGREDIENTS:


  • Tamarind - 500g

  • Green chillies - 4 nos

  • Red chillies - 3 no

  • Mustard seeds -  1tsp

  • Jeera - 1 tsp

  • Urad dal - 1 tsp

  • Chana dal - 1 tbsp

  • Methi - ½ tsp

  • Hing - ¼ tsp

  • sugar/ jaggery - ½ tsp

  • Oil - as required

  • Curry leaves

  • Turmeric - 1 tsp


METHOD:


  • Select fresh tamarind and grind them in a coarse paste add salt and turmeric and store it in a container. After 3 days again grind it in a paste and keep it aside.

  • Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, jeera. When they start spluttering add urad dal and chana dal. Fry until they turn golden brown add green chillies and red chillies.

  • Grind these ingredients in to a fine mixture. Then add chintakaya thokku to it and grind it into a smooth paste add sugar/ jaggery while grinding.

  • Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds to crackle add hing and switch off the flame. Add the tadka to the pachadi. 

  • Your thokku is ready.
