BORUGULA UPMA

INGREDIENTS:


  • Puffed rice - 1 cup

  • Onion - 1 no

  • Green chilli - 3 no

  • Turmeric powder - ½ tsp

  • Roasted chickpeas - 3 tbsp

  • Coconut - 1 tbsp

  • Lemon juice - 1 tsp

  • Peanuts - 1 tsp

  • Coriander - few

  • Mustard seeds - 1 tsp

  • Cumin seeds - ½ tsp

  • Urad dal - ½ tsp

  • Curry leaves - few

  • Oil - as required

METHOD:


  • Soak the puffed rice in water. Squeeze out water from the puffed rice. 

  • Grind roasted chickpeas and chopped coconut to a fine powder and keep it aside.

  • Heat oil in a pan add  mustard seeds, urad dal, saute till the dal turns red. Add curry leaves, green chillies and saute for few seconds.

  • Add the chopped onions and saute for a few minutes. Add turmeric powder, puffed rice, ground powder and salt mix well. Add lemon juice and roasted peanuts.

  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
