BENDEKAI KAYIRASA RECIPE

INGREDIENTS


  • Ladies finger – 200 gms

  • Turmeric powder – a pinch

  • Tamarind  extract – ¼ cup

  • Jaggery – 2 tbsp

  • Urad dal – 2 tsp

  • Red chilli – 2-3 nos

  • Fenugreek seeds – ½ tsp

  • Grated coconut – ¼ cup

  • Oil – for cooking

  • Salt – as per taste

  • Mustard seeds – 1 tsp

  • Curry leaves - few

INSTRUCTIONS


  • Wash and chop ladies finger, add salt, turmeric powder, jiggery, tamarind extract and cook ladies finger.

  • Heat oil in pan ad roasted red chilies, urad dal fenugreek seeds, and fry until the dal turns golden brown. To this add coconut and little water and grind to a smooth paste.

  • Add this paste to the cooked ladies finger, mix well, add salt and required water, bring it to boil and turn off the stove.

  • Temper with oil, red chili, mustard seeds, curry leaves.
