INGREDIENTS
Spinach - 1 cup
Dal - ½ cup
Green chilli - 2 no
Tomato - 1 no
Tamarind juice - 1 tsp
Cumin seeds - ½ tsp
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Turmeric - 1 tsp
Hing - 1 pinch
Garlic - 1 clove
Oil - as required
Curry leaves - few
Salt - as required
METHOD
In a pan add oil add mustard, cumin, red chilies, hing and urad dhal allow it to splutter.
Once the seasonings done add onion, green chilli, little salt and sauce till translucent.
Add the tomatoes, garlic and saute well.
When done, add cumin powder, red chilli powder, turmeric and mix well.
Add the spinach and give it a stir.
Add enough water and cook till the greens are done. Add the tamarind paste, cooked dal.
Allow the greens to cook completely.
Dal is ready to serve.
