INGREDIENTS:


  • Ragi flour - 1 cup

  • Curd - 1 cup

  • Mustard seeds - 1 tsp

  • Cumin seeds - ½ tsp

  • Curry leaves - finely chopped

  • Ginger - 1 inch (grated)

  • Chillies - 2 no

  • Peppercorns - ½ tsp

  • Asafoetida - a pinch

  • Coriander leaves - few

  • Salt - as required

  • Oil - as required


METHOD:


  •  In a large bowl add ragi flour, curd, pepper and salt. Heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds, cumin, curry leaves, ginger, green chillies and allow them to crackle. gradually stir in the ragi flour curd  mixture to the seasoning taking care lumps don’t form.

  • Turn the heat to medium and continue stirring, the porridge will begin to thicken continue stirring the mixture and once thickened and reduce the heat to low and cover the pan for 5 minutes.

  • Turn off the heat and serve the mor kali.
