MILLET PONGAL

INGREDIENTS:


  • Millets - 1 cup

  • Moong dal - ½ cup

  • Green chilli - 2 no

  • Cumin seed - 1 tsp

  • Pepper - 1 tsp

  • Curry leaves - few

  • Cashew nuts - 4 no

  • Asafoetida - ¼ tsp

  • Ginger - 1 inch

  • Ghee - 1 tsp

  • Salt - to taste


METHOD:


  • Dry roast millet and moong dal in a frying pan, wash and soak roasted millet and moong dal in a pan.

  • In a cooker add soaked millet, dal, 4 cups of water  and cook for 15 minutes.

  • Take a pan heat ghee, add cumin seeds, chilli, pepper, curry leaves, cashew nuts, ginger, asafoetida and saute for a few minutes.

  • Pour it over cooked millet and dal.

  • Your pongal is ready.
