CHETTINAD FISH CURRY

INGREDIENTS:


  • Fish - 200 g

  • Oil - 2 tbsp

  • Mustard seeds - 1 tsp

  • Onion - 1 no

  • Tomato - 1 no

  • Curry leaves - few

  • Tamarind - 1small size ball

  • Coriander - few

For sauteing and grinding

  • Oil - 1 tbsp

  • Fennel seeds - 1 tsp

  • Onion - 1 no

  • Garlic paste - 1 tsp

  • Tomato - 1 no

  • Chilli powder - 1 tbsp

  • Coriander powder - 2 tbsp

  • Turmeric powder - 1 tsp


METHOD:

  • Heat oil in a pan add fennel seeds and saute for a minute. Add onions and fry it and add garlic, tomatoes and saute well.

  • Add in spice powders and saute for a minute Let it cool and grind the mixture.

  • Now in the same pan add oil, mustard seeds and crackle it.add in onions and curry leaves and fry it until golden brown.

  • Add in the masala and mix well cook till oil separates. Add in the chopped tomatoes and toss.

  • Add tamarind pulp. Mix it well and bring it to boil.

  • Add in fish pieces mix it well season with salt. Simmer it for 10 minutes till the fish is done.

  • Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
