BEANS PARUPPU USILI

INGREDIENTS:
Beans - 1 cup
Tur dal - ⅓ cup
Bengal gram dal - 1 cup
Red chilli - 1 no
Green chilli - 2 no
Turmeric powder - ½ tsp
Oil - as required
Salt - to taste
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Asafoetida - a pinch
Curry leaves - few
METHOD:
Cook beans with salt until soft adding needed water and keep it aside.
Wash and soak tur dal and bengal dal for 1 hour. Drain the water completely and grind it with red chillies, green chillies, turmeric powder and salt.
Steam the coarsely ground dal for 15 mins. Once cooked crumble the dal with your hands.
Heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds, hing and curry leaves. Add the crumbled dal and mix well and cook for 2 minutes. Switch off the flame.
Add the cooked beans to the dal and mix well. Cook for another 2 minutes.
Your beans paruppu usili is ready.
