Chakka Kuru Podi Thooval

Ingredients:


  • Rice (uncooked) – Handful

  • Pepper Corns – as per spiciness preferred

  • Cumin seeds – 1 tbsp

  • Garlic – 1 pod

  • Shallot – 1 no

  • Jack Fruit Seeds – 1 cup 

  • Salt – to taste


Method:


  • Wash seeds well and pressure cook them with 2 cups of water in a pressure cooker (4 whistles)

  • Cool and peal the skin and break them into small chunks.

  • Use a pestle / blender to coarsely pulse the garlic, shallot and cumin seeds.

  • Grind rice and pepper corns to fine powder and leave aside.

  • In a pan, heat some oil and add the pulsed mixture and salt;  to this add the cooked jack fruit seeds, and stir them around.

  • Finally add the rice- pepper powder, mix thoroughly and remove from flame.
